WELCOME TO THIS FLAMBOYANT AND UNUSUAL WORLD

My name is Mara and I’m a jewish Libra from Minnesota living in Portland, OR.  My whole life has been a deep dive into my kicks, curiosities, and fascinations, so these are the tangible artifacts of that.  I’m drawn to the unlikely heroes, the unapologetic maniacs, the obsessed and devoted, the authentic saps, unusual life legacies, imagination and groove.  I’m a drummer and musician; I’m a painter, investigator, and full-time cheerleader for the underdogs, and carrier of the torch for the freaky.  Here you’ll find original works, mostly paintings, and limited-edition runs of archival-quality prints of those works.  

LITTLE OBSESSIONS

This is my monthly zine, available here individually or in 6/mo subscription packs!  I produce and assemble each episode from start to finish-- hand chopped and bound… and sent through the beloved USPS.  Each zine is a nugget of pure, uncut inspiration, exploring OUTSIDER ART, FILM FREAKS, SONG WORSHIP, UNDERAPPRECIATED MUSICAL ICONS, INSPIRING WEIRDOS, TWISTED PLACES, and much much more coming from a personal place.  I’m always accepting SUBMISSIONS, so please, feel free to submit material to this universe!  

$1 of each and every zine is donated to B.U.F.U. (a collective of queer, femme, and non-binary Black and POC organizers de-centering whiteness and dismantling white supremacy, amplifying these perspectives and voices through experimental models of organizing and making)
